Intelligent River Basin Management: Advances in Monitoring, Modeling, and Managing Water Resources

Session ID#: 249314

Session Description:
Rising climate variability, extreme events, and competing demands on water resources are transforming the way river basins are monitored and managed. This session explores intelligent, technology-driven frameworks that fuse Earth observations, AI/ML, and hydrological modeling to enable smart, adaptive, and climate-resilient river basin management. We welcome studies focusing on., (i) Remote sensing applications for dynamic monitoring of water quantity and quality, (ii) Next-generation Physics and AI-based Decision Support Systems (DSSs) across diverse basin scales, (iii) Integrated river basin planning and management, including waterbody rejuvenation, (iv) Reservoir operation models and adaptive tools for tracking Water Dynamics and Ecosystem Health, and (v) Case studies involving collaboration with government or basin authorities. This session welcomes researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers working across hydrology, data science, water management, and policy to share advances at the intersection of environmental intelligence, emerging technologies, and basin-scale governance - towards scalable, operational, and climate-resilient river basin solutions.
