Data to Action: Bridging the Gap Between Data Developers and Users
Data to Action: Bridging the Gap Between Data Developers and Users
Session ID#: 249524
Session Description:
Publicly available scientific datasets and associated tools can serve as a resource for impacted communities and other users to support local action and elevate local priorities, especially in climate, energy, and environmental justice spaces. However, developing effective and accessible resources requires meaningful collaboration with users, whose expertise and priorities often differ from the scientific team. This session invites researchers and collaborators to present innovative and actionable products developed with local insights. Presenters are encouraged to share their best practices for identifying community needs, designing for community needs/access, and publishing resources for maximum reach. When presenting their datasets and tools, presenters should share their intended use cases, and, where possible, examples of how those resources aided local action or supported local community organizations.
