Bridging Science and Practice: Innovations in Agricultural Water Management for Sustainable Futures

Session ID#: 249580

Session Description:
Emphasizing inter- and trans-disciplinary approaches, this session will highlight advancements in irrigation technologies, water conservation strategies, water quality and quantity innovations, and policy frameworks that support efficient water use to promote sustainability and resilience in agricultural systems. Discussions will focus on the integration of scientific research with on-the-ground practices, showcasing collaborations between researchers, extension services, and farming communities. The session aims to foster dialogue on scalable solutions that address water scarcity challenges and enhance the sustainability of agricultural landscapes. Suggested Topics for Abstracts: (1) Innovative irrigation technologies and their adoption in agricultural practices. (2) Water conservation strategies and their impact on crop yield and soil health. (3) Novel water quality and quantity improvement techniques. (4) Policy and economic analyses of water management in agriculture. (5) Case studies on successful collaborations between researchers and farming communities. (6) Modeling, decision-support tools, and forecasting tools for agricultural water use planning.
