Advances in Integrated Hydrologic Modeling
Session ID#: 250632
Session Description:
Integrated hydrologic models have pioneered the way in which we study watershed processes by providing robust computational platforms to explicitly capture the physical interactions between surface water and groundwater systems. This dynamic coupling allows for realistic feedbacks to develop and provides a more comprehensive approach to understanding and predicting hydrologic response. However, integrated groundwater-surface water modeling remains a complicated endeavor, and modeling approaches often differ by model, modeler, domain, objective, and even computational resource availability. This session brings together integrated hydrologic modelers of all skill levels and solicits presentations highlighting novel modeling applications and challenges. We encourage abstracts that explore topics related to model development, validation, and uncertainty assessment. We also welcome submissions from other groundwater-focused modelers (“integrated” or otherwise) contending with similar challenges to help foster a diverse range of opinions and perspectives.
