Your Newsletter: Does it work?
Session ID#: 251591
Session Description:
Scientific organizations and research collaborations worldwide use electronic newsletters as communication tools to disseminate information about new findings, upcoming events, opportunities, and to encourage participation in various activities. Several challenges affect the effectiveness of these newsletters including audience information overload, communication gaps between authors and audiences, and communication skills of authors and editors. This session seeks to examine how newsletter editors and authors might address these challenges and adapt to changing communication landscapes by leveraging evidence-based communication to reach their intended audiences. As a community of newsletter creators, how can we better understand factors like timing and frequency, content relevance and personalization, design and format, and comprehensive metrics to communicate science and organizational objectives more effectively?
