Advancements in Earth Science Data Access and Visualization through Emerging Technologies
Session ID#: 251893
Session Description:
Emerging technologies are transforming how Earth science data is accessed, visualized, and applied—empowering researchers, policymakers, educators, and communities. This session highlights innovative, scalable, and inclusive approaches that improve the usability of geospatial datasets through cloud-native infrastructure, web platforms, open-source tools, and advanced visualization such as 3D and immersive environments. We invite contributions showcasing modern tools and workflows for accessing, visualizing, and analyzing Earth observation data, including web-based GIS, dynamic tiling, STAC metadata, machine learning, and platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, GitHub, and Jupyter. Applications may span geoscience, mapping, weather forecasting, climate science, and environmental monitoring. This session emphasizes user-centered design, performance optimization, and real-world applications, particularly for disaster response, resource management, and ecosystem monitoring. We encourage submissions that prioritize accessibility, interoperability, and usability to ensure Earth science tools are relevant to a diverse user base.
