IN012
Analytics, Informatics, and Data (AID) for Advancing Sustainability: Innovations and Applications

Session ID#: 252516

Session Description:
Addressing interconnected sustainability challenges such as food, water, and energy scarcity, biodiversity loss, and climate change (as outlined in the UN's 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals), requires innovative data-driven approaches. The United Nations University (UNU) Sustainability Nexus Analytics, Informatics, and Data (AID) Programme (https://sustainabilityaid.net) is designed to develop and promote data strategies, computational methods, and analytical tools to support the UN and its Member States in tackling these challenges. This session invites submissions on the latest advancements in analytics, informatics, and data science applied to facilitating sustainability transitions around the world. We encourage contributions on the use of these tools to monitor environmental changes, model complex systems, and inform sustainable practices and policies. Submissions addressing data-related challenges and opportunities, including quality, accessibility, integration, and ethical considerations, are also welcome. We seek presentations showcasing innovative methodologies, case studies, and practical applications of analytics and informatics for advancing sustainability.
