Session Proposal: Multidisciplinary and Co-production Approaches for Community Climate Action (AGU25)

SY026
Multidisciplinary and Co-production Approaches for Community Climate Action

Session ID#: 252648

Session Description:
As set by the Paris Agreement, Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) provides a toolkit for the cohesive transformation of our educational, scientific, and policy infrastructures for the public good. ACE encompasses 6 elements essential to climate action: education, training, public awareness, public access to information, public participation, and international cooperation. This session explores the transformative potential of integrating these elements into climate science and policy that delivers community benefits and social equity. Submissions should highlight innovative action-based research, co-production approaches, participatory climate planning and decision-making, integration of diverse knowledge systems (including Indigenous and local research), analysis of community benefits, education for sustainable development, climate workforce development, and Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) policy case studies. We aim to explore some of the barriers to and opportunities for system transformation for climate justice.
