LA-Geo2028: The Natural Setting of the 2028 Summer Olympics

Session Description:
The 2028 Summer Olympics will mostly be held in Los Angeles, CA, which is a remarkable place on an evolving plate boundary at the continent-ocean interface.  This presents an unparalleled opportunity to explain a wide range of Earth processes to the many million residents of the region, K-12 teachers and students, Olympic participants, visitors, the media and the billions of others.  A lot of research on these natural features and processes and how they influence development of the region has and is being done and we want to organize to best communicate this information to this vast public audience. The full range of AGU sections are invited to participate to explain what they have found in as "public friendly" a way as possible. We are very interested to hear new ideas and involve more people and organizations like AGU.
