Advancing cross-cutting health, air quality, and Earth science applications

Session Description:
Discovering practical solutions that address complex environmental risks requires robust research and community partnerships that help tailor health advisories and messaging. Such risks include natural disasters, harmful air pollutants, urban heat, and zoonotic disease spillover. The One Health framework can help guide how researchers integrate Earth science data, models and algorithms, health surveillance data, and citizen science, to examine hazards affecting our environment and promote timely mitigation and adaptation strategies. We encourage submissions that demonstrate actionable applications of satellite-based Earth observations and complementary datasets to address knowledge gaps in public health decision-making frameworks. Topics may include, but are not limited to, air quality applications, responding to infectious disease outbreaks, and strengthening disaster preparedness. Submissions should showcase how Earth science applications can address public health needs, while achieving broader impact through scalable approaches from local to global levels.
