Stratospheric Dynamics, Aerosol Processes, and Interactions with the Troposphere

Session Description:
To better understand how the stratosphere plays an important role in our climate system, this session invites papers that study:
- Stratospheric transport and dynamics, including but not limited to tracer (e.g., age of air, ozone) transport and mixing, Brewer-Dobson circulation (BDC), quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO), stratospheric turbulence, wave activities, and sudden stratospheric warming (SSW).
- Stratospheric aerosols and chemical tracers from either natural (e.g., volcano eruptions, wildfire, deep convections) or anthropogenic activities (e.g., rocket/aircraft emissions, satellite re-entry, stratospheric aerosol injections), such as aerosol/plume dispersion and transport, aerosol nucleation and microphysical growth, aerosol radiative effects, aerosol-cloud interactions (e.g., PSCs).
- nteractions between stratosphere and troposphere, such as stratosphere-troposphere exchange (STE) and stratospheric influences on surface climate (e.g., subseasonal to seasonal predictability).
Observational, modeling, theoretical, and machine-learning studies are all welcome in this session.
