A Multi-Instrument View from Juno: Galilean Moons, Inner Satellites and Rings

Session Description:
The Juno spacecraft performed close and distant flybys of Ganymede, Europa, and Io between 2021 and 2024. The data collected during these flybys provided unprecedented views of these Jovian moons. In 2025-2026, Juno’s orbit allowed observations of Jupiter’s inner moon and ring system. Juno’s multi-instrument measurements include high-resolution imagery, ranging from UV to IR, passive microwave radiometry, electromagnetic sounding of the subsurface conductive layers, gravitational sounding of the interior, as well as the characterization of the electromagnetic fields and particle environment.
This session welcomes papers on the observations and modeling related to the Galilean moons (including Callisto) as well as Jupiter’s inner moon and ring system, including observations of the surface composition and geology, thermal mapping, structure and dynamics of deeper interior as well as atmospheric and space environment studies. Ground and space telescope observations and modeling work in anticipation of the Europa Clipper and Juice missions are equally welcome.
