Advances in the Practice and Theory of Climate Change Adaptation

Session Description:
This session explores advancements in understanding, implementing and tracking climate change adaptation. We welcome abstracts from scholars and practitioners of adaptation. The session aims to highlight inter- and trans-disciplinary work that contributes new learnings on adaptation progress, pathways, processes and outcomes. Conceptual or methodological innovations are encouraged (e.g., AI evidence synthesis, frameworks for resilience and/or adaptive governance, adaptive capacity, climate-informed decision-making, adaptation limits and/or impact evaluation and/or maladaptation). We also invite practitioners implementing on-the-ground adaptation plans, strategies and solutions such as for flood resilience, extreme heat adaptation, etc. Other topics of interest include but are not limited to: Human dimensions of adaptation; Resilience in critical infrastructure; Inclusive and fair adaptation; Innovative governance for adaptation; Natural hazard planning; Studies of success or failures in adaptation practice; Adaptation evidence-synthesis; and, Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for adaptation.
