Duct tape, zip ties, your MacGyver knife and 3D-printed parts, plus a geophysical problem that needs study. This interactive session celebrates ingenuity, creativity, and hands-on problem solving. With microcontrollers and microprocessors such as Arduinos, ESP32s and Raspberry Pis, as well as an ever-growing array of inexpensive sensors that work with these devices, geophysical data acquisition has never been more accessible to researchers like us with small budgets. Bring your prototypes, field-hardened systems, unexpected hacks, and even works-in-progress. Bring your gear and show us how it works. Or tell us how it broke and how you fixed it! Live demonstrations and real-time data collection are encouraged! Whether your goal was low cost, portability, resilience, or novel sensing, this session is an opportunity to exchange ideas, spark collaborations, and inspire the next generation of near-surface instrumentation.
