Linkages among climate variability, hydrologic processes, and human systems play a critical role in shaping water availability, water quality, and human health outcomes. Variability in temperature, precipitation, and hydrologic extremes influences exposure to hazards including flooding, drought, heat stress, degraded drinking water, and water‑borne disease. However, geophysical science and health research are often disconnected, limiting translation of physical process understanding into health-relevant decision making.

This session adopts a Prediction–Prevention–Participation framework to strengthen integration across geophysics, health, and policy. Prediction focuses on coupling climate and hydrologic processes with environmental and health data to improve risk assessment and early warning. Prevention highlights how process-based understanding can inform proactive water management, infrastructure design, and public health planning. Participation emphasizes co‑production with communities, practitioners, and decision-makers to ensure relevance, equity, and applicability. The session invites contributions spanning observations, modeling, data integration, and translational applications at the water–climate–health nexus.
