Spectroscopy of the Active Solar Corona with Current and Future Instrumentation

Session Description:
Recent spectroscopic observations (e.g., with IRIS, Hinode/EIS, SPICE, FOXSI, MaGIXS, STIX, XSM, MinXSS) have driven significant advances in our understanding of atmospheric dynamics and energetics, while also revealing new challenges. Upcoming solar observatories will transform EUV spectroscopic coronal studies: the Multi-slit Solar Explorer (MUSE) will provide simultaneous EUV imaging and spectroscopy over a wide field of view through its innovative 35-slit design, while EUVST will offer comprehensive temperature coverage via its broad EUV/UV spectral range. We invite contributions investigating dynamic phenomena in the solar atmosphere using current coronal spectroscopic observations and/or advanced modeling, as well as studies that explore and prepare for the scientific opportunities enabled by these next-generation spectroscopic missions.
