In the Urban Epoch, the rapid transformation of urban landscapes poses unprecedented challenges to climate resilience and human well-being. Urban Green Infrastructure (UGI) serves as a critical nexus for mitigating climate risks, yet its effectiveness depends on the complex interplay between physical structures and social systems.
This session invites multi-scale research on the synergistic optimization and governance of UGI. We seek to bridge the gap between advanced monitoring (e.g., remote sensing, field observations) and social-ecological governance. Key topics include:
- Assessing the diverse social-ecological effects of UGI (e.g., cooling, hydrology, health);
- Identifying trade-offs and synergies between ecological functions and social equity;
- Innovative frameworks for human-nature mutualism in urban planning.
By integrating biophysical evidence with governance strategies, this session aims to provide actionable insights for building sustainable and equitable cities in a changing climate.
