The rapid growth of human activity in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) has raised concerns about its environmental impacts. Rocket launches and the reentry and ablation of debris releases both gases and particles throughout the depth of the atmosphere.These emissions have the possibility of influencing climate, atmospheric circulation, ozone, mesospheric, stratospheric and tropospheric clouds, astronomy, and the thermosphere–ionosphere region. There are major gaps in our understanding of the cumulative global effects and long-term sustainability. This session aims to consider impacts and future needs to measure and model them.
