Advances in Decision-Support Systems, Resilience Analytics, Modeling Tools, and User-Inspired Datasets for Managing Extreme Weather Risks

Session Description:
This session invites contributions on advances in decision-support systems (DSS), resilience analytics, and single- and multi-sector datasets for managing risks associated with extreme weather events (e.g., floods, storms, droughts, heat or cold waves). We welcome studies that develop, evaluate, or apply computational tools and learning frameworks to support risk-informed planning, preparedness, response, and near- to long-term adaptation strategies across sectors, including water, energy, agriculture, finance, public health, and communities. Topics may include weather and hazard predictions, compound risk assessment and simulators, cascading impact modeling, early-warning DSS, stakeholder-oriented analytics, engineering tools, public-facing dashboards, and integration of environmental, infrastructure, and socioeconomic metrics. We particularly encourage examples that bridge geospatial scientific innovation with practical use by end users, including practitioners, utilities, agencies, decision-makers, risk coordinators, and community organizations. The session aims to highlight emerging methods, operational tools, and information communication that support resilient decision-making under extreme weather risks and multiple stressors.
