Heliophysics Science with Extended Missions

Session Description:
The NASA Science Mission Directorate Heliophysics Division operates a fleet of flight missions known as the Heliophysics System Observatory (HSO). The missions in the HSO form a heterogeneous constellation to investigate the behavior of the interconnected Heliophysics domain through simultaneous multipoint in situ measurements and remote imaging observations throughout that domain. Numerous HSO missions are in extended operations beyond their prime operations phase. These extended missions contribute valuable observations and continue to make important scientific discoveries, and, in some instances, also serve national interests in space weather and exploration.

This session invites papers that address the following topics: 1) promote and publicize the use of data from extended missions in solving Heliophysics science questions, 2) multi-messenger and multi-viewpoint science investigations using data from extended missions, and 3) improved understanding of how extended mission data are being used by the research community to maximize scientific return from the HSO fleet.
