Session Description:
Integrated near-surface geophysics plays a crucial role in characterizing shallow subsurface conditions that significantly affect infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and geohazard mitigation. This session invites contributions showcasing recent advances in the use of integrated geophysical methods for high-resolution imaging, monitoring, and interpretation of near-surface environments.

We welcome near-surface geophysical studies, such as seismic methods (SRT, HRSR, and MASW), focused on soil profiling, geotechnical site characterization, landslide investigations, and engineering foundation analysis. Contributions that incorporate gravity and magnetic surveys for structural mapping are particularly encouraged, especially when these methods support groundwater exploration, characterization of subsurface heterogeneity, and infrastructure planning. Electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) and electromagnetic induction (EM) remain effective methods for delineating groundwater systems, detecting sinkholes, and mapping salinization and fracture networks. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) plays a key role in forensic geophysics, engineering investigations, and shallow subsurface imaging.
