Professional development programs that go beyond technical scientific training are essential for early career researchers. Succeeding in a research career requires skills beyond content knowledge and discipline methodologies: researchers must create and present their work, write and publish journal articles, and craft research statements for grants and job applications. They must also manage their online presence, lead projects, participate in outreach or advocacy, and teach. Early career scientists do not always get practice in these skills and may not be aware of their value. There are a variety of professional development programs in science communications, outreach, mission planning, and proposal writing, but these efforts are not always visible across the community.

We seek abstracts from across AGU disciplines about successful programs that build skills beyond the classroom and research training. Submissions are encouraged from student organizations, individual programs, institutions, and professional organizations.
