Advances in Coronal Magnetometry: Integrating Observations, Inversion Strategies, and Simulation-Based Inference of Coronal Structure from DKIST, MLSO, and Next-Generation Coronagraphs

Session Description:
Recent advances in coronal magnetometry are transforming our ability to diagnose the magnetic structure and dynamics of the solar corona. Observations from the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope, the Mauna Loa Solar Observatory, Proba-3, and emerging facilities including COSMO and CORSAIR seek new constraints through high-resolution, off-limb spectropolarimetric and coronagraphic measurements across active regions, quiet Sun, streamers, and coronal cavities. In parallel, inversion strategies, tomographic reconstruction, active-region and global modeling, and advances in atomic physics calculations are providing essential frameworks to interpret these observables. Simulation-based inference, spanning local and global numerical models, is increasingly central to connecting measurements to the underlying magneto-plasma state.   This session invites contributions that integrate observations, inversion techniques, and simulations to infer coronal structure and evolution. Topics include magnetic topology, wave dynamics, energy storage and release, and eruptive initiation, as well as advances in diagnostics that bridge observations, theory, and multi-scale modeling.
