From Satellites to Solutions: Advancing Water Management with Applied Earth Observations

Session Description:
Satellite Earth observations (EO) are increasingly used to complement in-situ monitoring to meet the critical need for timely, accurate water information. As competing water demands intensify globally, decisions around water management are becoming more complex, requiring innovative and scalable solutions. This session explores how novel applications of existing satellite data and next-generation missions (e.g., PACE, SWOT, NISAR) address diverse water management needs. We highlight how integrating these observations with derived products, advanced modeling frameworks, and emerging technologies like AI/ML can improve decision-making for water availability, use, and quality. Submissions that demonstrate how NASA-based advancements are helping local, state, tribal, and industry end-users better assess water-related risks and build resilience are strongly encouraged. We particularly welcome case studies that showcase real-world impact, multi-sectoral collaboration, co-production, and the scalability of solutions.
