Session Description:
This session focuses on advances in AERONET and sun photometry for improving aerosol characterization and their impacts on air quality, radiation, and climate. We invite contributions on retrieval algorithms, calibration techniques, uncertainty quantification, and long-term data analysis.
We also encourage studies that extend sun photometer applications across diverse environments, including mobile and marine platforms, and their integration with satellite observations, in situ measurements, and air quality networks. Topics include satellite validation, multi-platform data fusion for aerosol mapping, and applications linking aerosol optical properties to surface PM2.5, chemical composition, and radiative effects.
This session aims to strengthen connections between ground-based observations, remote sensing, and atmospheric applications, highlighting the critical role of AERONET in multi-scale atmospheric research.
