Artemis II: Science from the First Crewed Voyage to the Moon in the 21st Century

Session Description:
Over 10 days in April 2026, the Artemis II mission launched, performed a flyby of theMoon, and returned to Earth in ten days. Observations from the lunar vicinity included the first direct observations by humans of much of the lunar far side, as well as the lunar nightside, and crewed views of virtually the entire lunar disk. Through the mission, vehicle camera data and crew observations were also gathered of the Earth, the Sun, planets, zodiacal light, and galaxies. Additional science investigations took place on Earth and in space in support or alongside the Artemis II mission, including investigations of space weather, impact flash monitoring, and synchronous data collection at the Moon. We welcome investigations of the Moon that are connected to the Artemis II mission, either through use of mission data, through a supporting role of the mission, or performed in collaboration of the mission’s intent.
