Communicating science is often a sterile process that disengages many potentially interested groups. We will discuss strategies for sharing and communicating your science to make it more exciting and appealing to both K-12 and community audiences. Conveying a good story is only half of the job. Creating a product that is synergistic with the teacher's needs is just as important if you are targeting K-12 classrooms. We will discuss synergistic collaborations with K-12 educators that can be beneficial to the researcher, the teacher, and the students. We will present a number of programs and share key attributes that have made these programs successful with broader impacts for faculty.
