Art has a unique power to make people care about and act on environmental, social, and systemic challenges through storytelling and unexpected representations of data. The synthesis of art and science (ArtSci) offers something deeper than communication; it can reshape how we create knowledge, and pave opportunities for new collaborators, new questions, and new ways of knowing. This session highlights collaborations between artists and scientists that push beyond communication and into the realm of action. This year we encourage three tracks of thought:

ArtSci Motivating Action,

Art as an Integrator of Science and Culture, and 

Engaging ArtSci Activities. 

We welcome work from scientists, educators, teaching artists, artists, and designers, and invite presentations that infuse stories, deliver live interactive experiences, and incorporate creative project materials. We especially encourage abstracts that reflect on how ArtSci shapes ways of knowing and being, and that center communities historically marginalized in art and science spaces.
