Advancing CubeSat Research: Student Contributions

Session Description:
This session, lead by the Air Force Research Lab’s University Nanosatellite Program (UNP), provides an opportunity for students to communicate current small satellite initiatives and research performed at their high schools and universities.  The mission of UNP is to promote and sustain university space-based research and education focused on small satellites (satellites conforming to masses up to 50kg) and related technologies. We welcome studies regarding lessons learned from on-the-launchpad and on-orbit missions touching on system design, integration, operations and data acquisition. Student satellite programs serve as an important bridge between academic curriculum and real-world training; thus proposals can focus on both successes and challenges encountered by small satellite-based research missions.
