Water Use, Earth System Modeling, and Decision Making: Converging Knowledge for Insights on Water Systems Resilience Across Scales

Session Description:
This session aims to highlight use cases and advancements in convergence research that integrate knowledge and perspectives from water use, Earth systems modeling, and decision-making communities of practice. We invite contributions that deeply integrate knowledge and perspectives on these topics to advance understanding of water systems resilience, evolving water demand, and the representation of water use in Earth system, hydrologic, land, and water management models that provide projections and predictions for decision-making. Submissions are encouraged from scientific research and practitioner communities, particularly those that emphasize collaborative co-production and interdisciplinarity to advance actionable science. Other topics of interest include, but are not limited to: water use data and observations; integrated and multisector modeling; model usability for water governance and decision-making; characterization of evolving water demand; interactions across food, energy, water, and ecological systems; and drivers and impacts of water use across scales.
