Session Description:
This interdisciplinary research examines spiritual worldview of the Sami, with a paticular focus on Sami Shamanism with central Arctic indigenous epistemic System. At its core is the exploration of earth and space as interwoven dimension of experience and knowledge. Based on spiritual culture and Shamanism of the Sami, the project reconstructs complex processes of cognitive and spiritual engagement with the arctic environment. The Project adresses a gap in arctic anthropology by systematicly contextualizing indigenous knowledge within scientific discourse. It aims to bridge traditional knowledge systems and modern science, contributing to cliamte change, arctic diplomacy and the UN sustainable devolopment goals, while strenthening social resilience to ecological change.
