Data-Driven and AI-Enabled Decision-Support Systems for Climate Adaptation and Resilience

Shaping effective climate adaptation and resilience strategies requires integrative, data-driven approaches. Advances in geospatial technologies, Earth observation, and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming how climate risks are assessed, communicated, and managed. AI-enabled decision-support systems, digital platforms, and data infrastructures are increasingly central to translating complex environmental data and models into actionable insights for planning and policy design. This session invites contributions on the development and application of data-driven and AI-enabled decision-support systems for climate resilience. Topics include geospatial analytics, GeoAI, digital twins, resilience dashboards, early warning systems, and scenario-based simulations that communicate and evaluate adaptation strategies across spatial and temporal scales. We also welcome research on integrating heterogeneous data sources, linking physical and social systems, and enabling participatory and policy-relevant decision-making. By bringing together researchers from geosciences, climate and atmospheric sciences, data sciences, and urban and spatial studies, this session aims to advance integrated informatics capabilities that support climate-resilient futures.
