Abstract:
The IUGONET (Inter-university Upper atmosphere Global Observation NETwork) is a data system which connects the distributed databases at 4 Japanese universities and one national institution by means of a common metadata database. The main purpose of the IUGONET is to promote the Solat-Terrestrial science with various ground based observations. On the other hand, the combination of ground based observation with satellite observations is essential to analyze the complex Solar-Terrestrial system. It is often necessary to use the globally distributed database which the IUGONET does not include. Therefore we need to extend the system to include the satellite data and to promote interoperability with other data system in other countries such as the ESPAS (Near Earth space data infrastructure for e-science) and the VOs (NASA/Virtual Observatories). In this paper, we introduce a proposal of extension of the IUGONET to include the satellite data and to increase the interoperability with other data systems in Europe and America.
