Galactic Cosmic Rays: the additional information from UVS
Galactic Cosmic Rays: the additional information from UVS
Abstract:
The detectors of the UV spectrographs on board Voyager 1/2 have been shown to provide additional measurements of the Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR's) in the 100 MeV range by means of an easily inferred background. Despite the absence of energy resolution, comparing those UVS detector data with data from the dedicated experiments provides some information on the spectral slopes of the GCR's and their temporal evolution, and some insights on the anisotropies. These properties will be discussed in the context of heliosheath modulation.
