Solution to Climate Change and Emerging Contaminants in Agricultural and Forestry Environments
Solution to Climate Change and Emerging Contaminants in Agricultural and Forestry Environments
Session ID#: 76031
Session Description:
As hot topics in environmental studies, both climate change and emerging contaminants are global environmental problems with the development of modern industry. Agricultural and forestry environments are two most important terrestrial ecosystems in regulation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and carbon sequestration. Meanwhile, they both receive large amounts of emerging contaminants every year through irrigation, fertilization and precipitation, which may eventually change the ecosystems in relation to the biogeochemical cycling of carbon and other GHG components. Therefore, this session invites the latest studies on the changes of soil, water and their ecosystems in agricultural and forestry land under stressors of climate change and emerging contaminants pollution. The studies in terrestrial ecosystems include, but is not limited to, C and N exchange between atmosphere and soil, characterization of C sequestration using remote sensing technology, and soil and water pollution with antibiotics and microplastics.
