Energy Meteorology 3 – Environmental Effects on Solar Energy Infrastructure
Energy Meteorology 3 – Environmental Effects on Solar Energy Infrastructure
Session ID#: 77063
Session Description:
Solar power plants are subjected to a variety of environmental conditions that affect longevity and/or conversion efficiency. As solar irradiation becomes increasingly well characterized, researchers are focusing on other environmental effects. The talks in this session will cover soiling, abrasion, aerosols, and ground reflectance. Research on quantifying the effects, forecasting their impacts through process-based models, and mitigation measures is welcome.
This is one of a three-session contribution sponsored by the American Institute of Physics Publishing (AIPP), whose new Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy (JRSE) aims to make JRSE the home journal for the researchers with interests in resourcing, forecasting and integration issues for both solar and wind power, and energy meteorology and climatology.
