#FlumeFriday: Building a broad and diverse online community to share insights from physical modelling experiments.

Session ID#: 79307

Session Description:
#FlumeFriday is a twitter hashtag established by the HYDRALAB community to share insights and expertise from all types of physical modelling experiments by building an active online community to support experimentalists. It is an opportunity to connect scientists involved in experimental work from many different disciplines and reach out to a broader online community, bringing complementary field, laboratory, numerical and modelling skills to understand the processes controlling environmental flow dynamics using both established and novel instrumentation and techniques.

We welcome submissions from past, present and future #FlumeFriday contributors to share approaches to experimental modelling. We encourage contributions focused on methodologies, instrumentation, and techniques, to share knowledge on how to overcome difficulties and improve results. A particular emphasis is placed on sharing advances associated with using low-cost and easy-to-find solutions for hydro/morphodynamic or bio/geochemical processes. The sharing of strategies and initiatives to support open science in experimental hydraulics is also welcome.
