Fate and Effects of Metals, Organic Matters, and Other Emerging Environmental Contaminants

Session ID#: 79513

Session Description:
There have been many advances of development of impact prediction models that have made progress in understanding interactions between accumulations, physiology of the organism, and exposure geochemistry. These models not only can help understand the early Earth life transitions but also could improve our knowledge of the current environment and possibly avoid any catastrophe in the future. Nevertheless, improving and refining current models requires data from a wide range of organisms, metals, as well as organic matters and other newly appeared environmental contaminants (e.g., nanoparticles, drugs,  personal care products, endocrine disruptors, etc. ), and water chemistries as well as soils/sediment chemistries. This session will host the latest research into these and similar issues and will interest not only the researchers concerned about the fate and effects of metals, organic matters, and any other emerging environmental contaminants to aquatic organisms but also the researchers concerned about the early Earth life transitions.
