Coastal Geomorphology and Morphodynamics: Observations and Modelling of Coastal Environments

Session ID#: 82334

Session Description:
Coastal landscapes are highly dynamic in space and time, owing to a combination of natural and anthropogenic factors. Interactions between littoral, atmospheric, and terrestrial processes modify the landscape across a range of scales. Coastal zone research reflects this complex and dynamic environment, encompassing long-term and broad-scale to short-term and fine-scale processes. The 2019 Coastal Geomorphology and Morphodynamics session welcomes contributions based on field observations, development and application of models, emerging coastal monitoring techniques, investigations of sedimentary deposits, physical experiments, and interdisciplinary research linking coastal geomorphology and morphodynamics with biology, ecology, and social science. Contributions are encouraged from a wide range of studies including beaches, coastal dunes, barrier islands, rocky coasts, deltas, marshes, estuaries, and lagoons.
