Open Science Successes and Challenges: Learning from Biogeoscience Use-Cases
Open Science Successes and Challenges: Learning from Biogeoscience Use-Cases
Session ID#: 82535
Session Description:
Open science tools and frameworks are expanding as greater emphasis is put on interdisciplinary collaboration, open access journals, and findable, accessible, interoperable, and re-usable (FAIR) data. As a result, new challenges and opportunities arise related to how research is done and communicated. This session will host several invited talks from researchers with expertise and experience in open science, followed by short talks highlighting individual researchersâ experiences navigating aspects of open science such as preregistration, open computing, reproducibility, data deposition, and more. We invite researchers to share examples of how open science has been applied to their biogeoscience discoveries with an emphasis on lessons learned from the challenges, successes, and failures of making their science open.
