AI for Model and Data Integration in the Geosciences

Session ID#: 82892

Session Description:
This panel session seeks to bridge the gap between Intelligent Systems and AI researchers and researchers from the geosciences, including Earth, atmospheric, ocean, and space sciences.  Sponsored by the EarthCube IS-GEO RCN, the session will address specific topics and key questions:

  • What are the major challenges in integrating models and data in geosciences?
  • What emerging AI approaches are promising for integrating geosciences models and data?
  • How have recent AI advances contributed to geoscience model integration?
  • What are examples of successful AI research in model and data integration in geosciences?
  • Where are the greatest opportunities and needs for AI in model integration?
  • How can we prepare the next generation of students to work at the intersection of these fields?
