Novel Approaches in Climate-Driven Applications for Geohealth and Infrastructure Decision Makers

Session ID#: 82921

Session Description:
There is a growing interest in infrastructure development utilizing climate impacts and projections. This session aims to bring together researchers that focus on new perspectives and insights regarding climate change and climate variability on infrastructure design and implementation. We seek contributions that illuminate implications of climate and weather for a range of projected global warmings and ‘permanent infrastructure’ time scales, providing insights into the reduced risk by mitigation as well as positive benefits of adaptation strategies. We encourage researchers to submit new perspectives and results in areas such as, but not limited to: glacial modeling for water (climate variability) or waste repositories (orbital time scales); projected environmental changes in wind and solar energy (climate change and variability); impacts to agriculture productivity (extreme event resilience), and new mitigation strategies. Submissions could include future climate projections or retrospective analyses. We especially encourage contributions linking geohealth and meteorology.
