Roadmap to gender-inclusive restrooms in your institution

Abstract:

Based on personal experience with three campus communities’ efforts to increase the number of all-gender or gender-inclusive restrooms in their academic buildings, this work provides a sequence of tasks for identifying candidate bathrooms, demonstrating community support, and changing the physical environment of the chosen restrooms. Possible responses to common roadblocks regarding safety and cost are included.
