CONFIGURATION SPACE IONOSPHERIC STRUCTURE MODELS
Abstract:
A standard stochastic structure model imposes an SDF onto uncorrelated spatial Fourier components. However, the associated structure is zero mean and symmetric. While there is statistical equivalence to real structure, the textural details are very different. A configuration space model comprised of a distribution of physically realizable striations is described in [1]. In the original development it was shown that a configuration of randomly located striations could be configured to generate two-component inverse power-law structures. The connections between the analytic, physics-based, and configuration-space models will be demonstrated. The summarizes the mode and its relation to simulated EPB structure.
