Abstract:
Aiming to coordinate the global joint effort for advancing interdisciplinary carbon research, Cooperation on Reanalysis of Carbon Satellite Data (CASA) has been gradually cooperating with several international societies, space agencies, and research institutes on the promotion of well-using carbon satellites data and information. It also operates as an important component of the Climate Observation, Simulation, and Impacts (CLIMDATA-OBS), a project of GEO Work Programme 2020-2022. CASA initiated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the National Earth Observation Data Center (NODA) of China in 2018. Its missions are to reform the research mode of carbon data based exploration, to integrate carbon satellite data, models, and computing technologies to advance the interdisciplinary study, and to implement a big earth data e-science platform for global carbon researches are very essential and necessary. The purpose here is to further update the concept of this information service needed to easy access to carbon observations, models, and auxiliary environment information products, to illustrate the supercomputing e-science data infrastructure, as well as the new achievements and products upon the reanalysis of carbon satellite data. Inconsistent data formats and different spatial-temporal resolution of the massive carbon data resource (including standard products from GOSAT, GOSAT-2, OCO-2/3, TanSat. Sentinel-5P, FY3D, GF-5, and related auxiliary data) have been reset and uniformed on CASA e-science platform. New versions of global XCO2 and Solar-induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) products from TanSat have been produced under the support of the CASA e-science platform.
