How the Madrigal Database Can Help with the Latest Scientific Requirements

Abstract:
Madrigal is an upper atmospheric science database used by groups throughout the world. Madrigal is a robust, World Wide Web based system capable of managing and serving archival and real-time data, in a variety of formats, from a wide range of upper atmospheric science instruments. Madrigal also has a complete API for various scientific programming languages that allow easy access to data with scripts. In this talk we will discuss the new features that help Madrigal users meet the latest scientific requirements. With the latest release of Madrigal, users can now reference individual files in the database that are persistent, even if updated with newer versions. In addition, users can create a reference to a group of Madrigal files of any size using the newest Madrigal feature. We will also discuss how the Madrigal database architecture and implementation meets and exceeds the FAIR guiding principles in all aspects.
