Abstract:
Coronal mass ejection driven sheath regions are important drivers of space weather. Their structure and formation is however not yet well understood. In this presentation we discuss general sheath characteristics and in particular their magnetic field fluctuations properties (spectral indices, compressibility and intermittency) in differents parts of the sheath. The results highlight that turbulent properties can vary considerably within the sheath and support the view of the complex formation of the sheath and different physical mechanisms playing a role in generating fluctuations.
