Catalog of Black Holes

Abstract:

Black holes are regions in place with immense gravity and are thought to be at the center of every massive galaxy. This could mean that black holes are necessary for galaxies to sustain themselves. Learning more about black holes could be helpful in understanding the universe. There are a lot of big questions concerning the universe, like how was the universe created; having more information about black holes can solve these queries. The research is focused on a map of the black holes in our galaxy--the Milky Way. The data was collected from pre-existing documents of black holes like the SIMBAD database. For instance, some information is found by looking up lists of black holes then searching the name of the black hole to confirm its existence and characteristics. After this, a picture of the galaxy was taken and used to map out the black holes’ location. Having an image of where black holes exist in our galaxy could provide valuable information and data.
