Abstract:
In light of climate change, drought events are becoming more frequent. This may have severe consequences for productivity and yield in crops. Remote sensing provides a promising technique to monitor real time plant function at high temporal and spatial scales. In this study, we monitored the response of grapevine to water stress. The experiment consisted of a well watered treatment and a water stress treatment to induce drought stress. Spectral reflectance was used to observed changes in leaf physiology to water status and water use efficiency. Successful use of remote sensing tools can be used to track changes in crop productivity and yield and be used to aid in irrigation management.
