Abstract:
The entrainment and deposition of fine particles in porous media directly affect the efficiency of oilfield production. The entrainment of fine particles such as clay, sandstone and quartz will affect the speed and path of crude oil flow in the fractured channels of the formation porous media. Particle deposition affects the porosity and permeability of the rock. In this paper, the CFD-DEM method is used to numerically simulate the flow characteristics of particles in three-dimensional anisotropic porous media. Based on this method, the influence of particle radius, flow velocity, and fluid viscosity on particle Entrainment and porosity in consideration of fluid-solid interaction are obtained. Results show that As the particle radius increases, the deposition speed of particles and the flow resistance increases, the particle deposition speed during the movement process slows down with the flow velocity increases. In addition, the fluid viscosity plays a significant role in changing the deposition speed of particles. The research has a wide range of application prospects, laying a good foundation for the study of multiple flow in low-permeability reservoirs.
